Rental Agreement & Terms of Service

This Dumpster Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) is between Green Star Roll Off (“Company,” “we,” “us”) and the customer identified in the booking (“Customer,” “you”). By reserving and paying for a dumpster rental, you agree to the terms below.

1. Rental period

Your rental period is 10 days from the delivery date unless your booking states otherwise. Additional days are $20 per day. Pickup is arranged at the end of the rental period; call us if you need it picked up sooner. Dumpsters kept beyond the rental period without an approved extension may incur additional daily charges until picked up.

2. Charges & payment

Rental fees are charged in full at the time of booking. Your base rate includes the dumpster, delivery, pickup, and the weight allowance for your size. Charges that depend on actual use — weight overages, extra days, and the fees in Section 8 — are billed after pickup. We don’t do surprise charges: if a weight overage or any additional fee applies, we’ll contact you to let you know before we bill it. All amounts are in U.S. dollars.

3. Weight limits & overage

Each size includes a weight allowance shown at booking. Loads over the allowance are charged $95 per additional ton (or part of a ton), based on the certified scale weight at the disposal facility. 40-yard loads over 15 tons are billed at double the overage rate.

4. Prohibited materials

For safety and legal compliance, the following may NOT be placed in the dumpster:

• Hazardous waste, chemicals, solvents, oil, wet paint (empty, fully dried-out cans are OK), and fuels
• Tires, batteries, asbestos, and PCBs
• Flammable, explosive, or reactive materials
• Medical, biohazard, or radioactive waste
• Liquids of any kind, and sealed drums or containers
• Appliances containing refrigerants (refrigerators, freezers, AC units) unless arranged in advance
• Burnt or charred material
• Electronics / e-waste where prohibited by law

If prohibited materials are found in the load, you are responsible for all resulting special-handling, disposal, cleanup, and fine costs.

5. Loading & proper use

• Keep the load level. Do not fill above the top rail of the container. Overfilled or over-height loads cannot be legally hauled and incur a $100 fee and/or require reloading.
• Do not exceed the weight allowance and distribute weight evenly across the container.
• Do not move or relocate the dumpster yourself. If it needs to be repositioned, call us (a relocation fee applies).
• Use at the delivery address only — the dumpster may not be moved to another site.

6. Placement & site access

• You choose the placement location and are responsible for making sure it is safe, legal, and accessible, with a clear delivery path (no low wires, locked gates, soft ground, or obstructions).
• A flat, paved surface (such as a driveway) is recommended. You may place boards or plywood under the dumpster to help protect the surface.
• Dry-run fee. If our truck cannot safely access or place the dumpster on arrival, a dry-run fee of $200 applies.

7. Property damage & liability

Heavy equipment and loaded dumpsters can mark, crack, or stain driveways and other surfaces. By selecting a placement location, you accept this risk. The Company is not responsible for damage to driveways, pavement, curbs, lawns, sprinklers, underground utilities, or other surfaces resulting from delivery, placement, or pickup at the location you designate. You are responsible for any damage to property or injury to persons arising from the placement, use, or contents of the dumpster.

8. Additional fees (billed after service, if they apply)

• Dry run (cannot deliver / pick up): $200
• Relocation (move on-site): $150–250
• Over-height / overfilled load: $100
• Extra rental day: $20 per day
• Weight overage: $95 per ton
• Same-day cancellation (after the 5 PM cutoff): $150 — see Section 9
• Prohibited-material handling: at cost

9. Cancellations & refunds

You may cancel free of charge up until 5:00 PM the day before your scheduled delivery date. Cancellations after that cutoff — including same-day cancellations — are subject to a $150 fee. Once a dumpster has been delivered, the rental is non-refundable.

10. Permits

You are responsible for obtaining any permit required for placement, including street or public right-of-way placement. Permit fees, and any fines for placement without a required permit, are your responsibility.

11. Care of the equipment

You are responsible for the dumpster while it is in your possession and are liable for loss of, or damage to, the container beyond normal use — including fire, vandalism, painting, or damage from misuse.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Green Star Roll Off and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, fines, or expenses arising from your use of the dumpster, the materials placed in it, the placement location, or your breach of this Agreement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company’s total liability under this Agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the rental. The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

14. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, and Los Angeles County is the venue for any dispute.

15. Entire agreement & acceptance

This Agreement, together with your booking details, is the entire agreement between you and the Company. By reserving and paying, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms, and that you are authorized to place the dumpster at the delivery address.
